After months of feedback and prototyping, The Analog Backpack is finally here! This special black edition is made with a modified black and white logo. It is designed to hold your daily essentials with the following features:

  • Padded laptop and iPad compartment
  • Pocket on bag strap for small items
  • Hidden pocket for important items
  • Pocket within the front pocket for extra security
  • Carabiner to clip in keys, rings and other small items
  • Elasticized water bottle holder
  • Luggage strap to slot backpack through luggage handles

The Analog Backpack is crafted with a water repellent canvas material.

Care Instructions:

The Analog Bag is made from a cotton canvas material, known for its durability and eco-friendliness. To preserve its shape, functionality and quality, clean your canvas bag by wiping it gently with a damp, warm, white towel and allow it to air dry. For tougher stains, wash by hand with a mild detergent. To preserve the water repellent quality of the canvas, do not soak.

Almost Perfect

Functionally, a great backpack. Plenty of thoughtfully designed pockets and features. Well constructed with quality canvas. Fits a petite frame quite nicely. When the mono black was announced, I jumped on that preorder as it completed the checklist for my ideal bag. Been using it daily for about a month. Will continue to use it but will wish it was somewhat improved. (Sorry, this is a long one but I super appreciate Analog's openness to constructive feedback and really want to see y'all succeed 💕)

The first disappointment was the poly webbing on all the straps, seeing the other Analog Co. totes, I assumed the strap extenders on the backpack would be cotton webbing as well. The description only mentions that the bag "is crafted with a water repellent canvas material". The poly cheapens the bag overall, I removed the chest straps immediately as they were all dangly and floppy.

Different zips would be a big improvement. They have smooth movement but too smooth! One can easily unzip with just finger pressure on the zipper head. This is a problem for the strap pocket and security pocket as they open too easily. Locking zippers for both verticals would prevent accidental opening. Adding a shield over the main zip or swapping it with a waterproof zip would ensure better water resistance.

More about zips (sorry, who knew zips mattered so much): The two piece pull adds just enough extra clinking that the sound sensitive (yours truly) can get quite irritated by the constant high pitch clinking.

The "squareness" of the front pocket gets lost pretty quickly as you can't really load anything into the top of the square due to gravity and accessibility. Not a big deal at all but something to consider if the bag holding its shape is important to you.

The laptop compartment although well padded, does not have a false bottom meaning the laptop can potentially bottom out.

Last, and definitely least, the hanging loop. One naturally grabs at the hanging loop when lifting the bag up from the floor or chair. It's a bit tight to grab with more than two fingers. A wider set loop or a separate top handle would solve this.

TL;DR: backpack great, a couple of tweaks would make it the best from the best.

practical and superb quality

the bag is functional and has all the essential compartments i would need. got this backpack for daily and travel purposes, and i believe it would serve well in all ways. quality exceeded my expectations. bag is slightly on the heavier side but understandable with the durable canvas quality.
